Woman alleges fall at Fresno building caused by negligence of Ellis Family Partnership

FRESNO – A Fresno woman alleges she was injured in the building housing the County of Fresno Social Services after her foot caught in a threshold plate.

Catherine Luna Rodriguez filed a complaint on May 17 in the Fayette Circuit Court against Ellis Family Partnership III and Does 1 to 20 alleging general negligence and products and premises liability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 18, 2016, she while entering the defendant's building, she tripped and fell after catching her foot in the metal threshold plate at the premises. She alleges she was injured in the fall.

The plaintiff holds Ellis Family Partnership III and Does 1 to 20 responsible because the defendant allegedly negligent and careless in the ownership, operation, maintenance, inspection and repair of the doorways/entryways of the premises, causing severe injuries to invitees.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for compensatory damages according to proof. She is representing herself.
