FRESNO – Individuals allege a driver who attempted to pass a vehicle on a two-lane highway in Fresno is responsible for causing a collision.

Angel Santos Cortes and Adameidy Marquez del Angel filed a complaint on May 21 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Herbert Deon Goodwin alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on June 19, 2016, they were traveling northbound on state Route 41 in Fresno. The suit states the defendant, who was traveling southbound, tried to pass a vehicle in front of him and collided head-on with the vehicle in front of the plaintiffs. The suit states the plaintiffs' vehicle then struck the vehicle the defendant struck.

As a proximate result, the plaintiffs allege they sustained injuries to their health and strength, all of which have caused and will continue to cause great mental and physical pain.

The plaintiffs hold Goodwin responsible because the defendant allegedly violated California vehicle code regarding passing vehicles on a two-lane highway.

The plaintiffs seek judgment for compensatory damages according to proof. They are represented by Ron Torem of Torem & Associates in Beverly Hills.
