Lawsuits
Wrongful term 02

FRESNO – A former sales clerk for Ross Stores alleges she was terminated after reporting sexual harassment.

Sipsi Felix filed a complaint on June 18 in the Fresno County Circuit Court against Ross Stores Inc., Chris Doe and Does 1 through 50 alleging sexual harassment, assault, retaliation and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in June 1, 2017, she became an employee of defendants as a sales clerk. She alleges during her employment, she was denied promotions, benefits, and/or advancement after reporting sexual harassment/misconduct in the workplace. Felix alleged she was subjected to a pattern of offensive and unwanted sexual conduct while performing her duties and was constructively discharged Aug. 25, 2017, after reporting the harassment.

The plaintiff holds Ross Stores Inc., Doe and Does 1 through 50 responsible because the defendants allegedly ignored her complaints and failed to conduct an investigation concerning the harassment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory, general and punitive damages; injunctive relief; attorneys' fees; costs; pre- and post-judgment interest; costs of suit; and for such other further relief as the court deems proper. She is represented by Fernando Tafoya of Tafoya & Associates in Fresno.
