SACRAMENTO – Two Tulare County residents allege the nursery they formerly worked for owes them unpaid overtime wages.

Manuel Perez and Macario Perez filed a complaint on July 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California against Gold Coast Farms LLC, Means Nursery Inc., All AG Inc. and Does 1 through 10 over alleged violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, Manuel Perez and Macario Perez both previously worked for defendants and left their employment in December 2017. They allege the defendants failed to pay the state minimum wage, failed to pay all overtime wages when due, failed to provide accurate wage statements and other alleged labor code violations.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek an award for attorneys' fees, costs of suit, pre- and post-judgment interest, and for such other and further relief as the court deems just and proper. They are represented by Anali Cortez and Estella M. Cisneros of California Rural Legal Assistance Inc. in Fresno.
