LOS ANGELES – A Shell Beach consumer alleges she was illegally contacted by an online business consultant company to solicit its services.

Terri Alves filed a complaint individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated on July 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Oasis Media Group Inc. and Does 1-10 alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that beginning in December 2017, Oasis called her almost daily to solicit its services. She alleges she asked multiple times to be placed on the defendant's do-not-call list, but it continued to call her.

The plaintiff holds Oasis Media Group Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to establish and implement reasonable practices and procedures to effectively prevent telephone solicitations and called consumers without their consent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants, award of $500 in statutory damages and up to $1,500 in treble damages for each and every violation or knowing violation, injunctive relief, and all other relief that the court deems just. She is represented by Todd M. Friedman, Adrian R. Bacon, Meghan E. George and Tom E. Wheeler of Law Offices of Todd M. Friedman PC in Woodland Hills.
