LOS ANGELES – A Los Angeles County resident alleges her credit score has been damaged because of inaccurate information on her credit report.

Kevy Rousseau filed a complaint on Aug. 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against Unify Financial Credit Union, Experian Information Solutions Inc., and Does 1-10 citing the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Consumer Credit Reporting Agencies Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff settled with Unify in a suit over three alleged loans in default and agreed she would pay 71 percent of the alleged principal over 60 monthly payments with no new interest, fees and costs. The plaintiff alleges Unify continues to report to Experian the previous balances on the loans instead of the compromised balances, which has reduced her creditworthiness. She alleges she has disputed Unify's misleading information.

The plaintiff holds Unify Financial Credit Union, Experian Information Solutions Inc., and Does 1-10 responsible because Unify allegedly failed to conduct a proper investigation of her dispute and Experian failed to follow reasonable procedures to assure maximum possible accuracy.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants for punitive and exemplary damages, actual and statutory damages, costs, attorney's fees, general damages, and further relief as the court deems just. She is represented by Aidan W. Butler in Los Angeles.
