Individual alleges plants in sidewalk at Riley's Brew Pub caused fall

FRESNO – A patron of Clovis establishment alleges that she was injured because plants in the sidewalk caused her to trip and fall.

Francina Castro filed a complaint on Sept. 7 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Shirinian Hospitality Group LLC, doing business as Riley's Brew Pub, Pavilion Properties and Does 1-20 alleging negligence and premises liability.

According to the complaint, on April 6, 2017, Castro was lawfully at the defendants' Riley's Brew Pub and tripped and fell after catching her foot in plants that were encroaching from planting bed onto the sidewalks leading out from the gate of the patio.

She alleges she sustained a loss of wages, hospital and medical expenses and loss of earning capacity as a result of the fall.

The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages according to proof. She is represented by Edward B. Chatoian of Law Offices of Edward B. Chatoian in Fresno.
