FRESNO – A shopper alleges she was injured at a Fresno department store when she slipped on liquid on the floor.

Pamela Herald filed a complaint on Sept. 5 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Marshall's Department Stores of California Inc., TJX Cos./Marshalls, Ireit Fresno El Paseo LLC and Does 1 to 30 alleging general negligence and premises liability.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 12, 2016, Pamela Herald was lawfully at the defendants' department store in Fresno when she slipped in liquid that was on the floor in the back of the store.

As a result, the plaintiff alleges she sustained physical injuries that left her with medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly negligently maintained their store and failed to use reasonable care to keep their property in a reasonably safe condition.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for compensatory damages according to proof. She is represented by Darryl B. Freedman of Law Office of Darryl B. Freeman Inc. in Fresno.
