SAN FRANCISCO – A fund manager and investment officer alleges anonymous individuals published defamatory statements about him online.
Ty Dincer filed a complaint on Sept. 28 in the San Francisco Superior Court against John Does 1-20 alleging defamation.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges the defendants published false and defamatory statements about him on Wikipedia, Wordpress, Reddit and others beginning in July. The suit states these statements falsely claimed the plaintiff had been convicted of criminal charges in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; was involved in a romantic relationship with a co-worker; and was involved in corrupt business practices.
The plaintiff holds John Does 1-20 responsible because the defendant allegedly acted with malice when they published the statements.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks preliminary and permanent injunction, compensatory and exemplary damages, costs of suit, interest, and such other relief as the court may deem proper. He is represented by Karl S. Kronenberger and Jeffrey M. Rosenfeld of Kronenberg Rosenfeld LLP in San Francisco.
