NorCal Foot and Ankle patient alleges she did not consent to performed surgical procedures

OROVILLE – A medical patient alleges she was injured because of an ankle surgery that she claims included surgical procedures she did not consent to.

Debra Gonzalez filed a complaint on Oct. 5 in the Butte Superior Court against Sean Stoddard; Sean Stoddard LLC; NorCal Foot and Ankle; Foot & Ankle Clinic of Northern California; Patients' Hospital and Does 1 to 100 alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 10, 2017, the plaintiff alleges suffered injuries when defendants allegedly performed surgical procedures that were not consented to. The suit states the plaintiff underwent a total ankle replacement.

As a result, the plaintiff claims she suffered physical impairment, inconvenience, grief, anxiety, humiliation and emotional distress. 

The plaintiff alleges the defendants used the wrong preoperative diagnosis, wrong surgical recommendations and wrong surgical procedures.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for compensatory damages according to proof. She is represented by Daniel Weltin of The Law Offices of Daniel Weltin PC in San Leandro.
