Rear-end collision in Chico alleged to have injured two

Lawsuits
Car accident 34

OROVILLE – Two individuals from Chico and Salinas allege they were injured when their vehicle was rear-ended while they were stopped at a light in Chico.

Lauren Jaramillo and Nicholas Blackwell filed a complaint on Oct. 9 in the Butte Superior Court against Megan Jheri Simmons and Does 1 through 50 alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 7, 2017, the plaintiffs were traveling westbound on Nord Avenue in Chico and stopped for a red light when their vehicle was rear-ended by defendant's vehicle.

The plaintiffs hold Simmons responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to use reasonable safety that a reasonable or prudent driver would have, endangering the safety of persons and property.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment for general damages, loss of earnings, costs of suit, prejudgment interest, and such other relief as the court deems just and proper. They are represented by Garrett May, Ryan Buchanan and Robert May of The May Firm Inc. in San Luis Obispo.
