SAN FRANCISCO — A California man is suing Lyft Inc. and John Doe, citing alleged negligence after he allegedly was injured while driving his motorcycle.
Alexander Odom-Tomchin filed a complaint on Oct. 4, in the San Francisco County Superior Court, against the defendants alleging that the Lyft driver failed to operate his vehicle safely.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 6, 2010, he was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood, when defendant John Doe, while operating his vehicle as a Lyft driver, made a quick right turn so that the front left bumper of his vehicle struck the front wheel of plaintiff's motorcycle.
As a result of the incident, plaintiff was ejected from the seat of the motorcycle and was seriously injured, disabled and lost enjoyment and quality of life.
The plaintiff holds Lyft Inc. and John Doe responsible, because the defendants allegedly failed to adequately maintain and operate a motor vehicle.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants for general and special damages, interest, costs of suit, and further relief as the court deems just. He is represented by himself in Santa Clara.
