Uber passenger claims injuries after a vehicle collision

SAN FRANCISCO — An Uber passenger is suing Uber Technologies as well as the owners of a vehicle that allegedly struck the Uber vehicle as it traveled on Folsom Street.

The plaintiff is citing insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.

Maria D. Mayorga filed a complaint on Oct. 3, in San Francisco Superior Court, against Rose Hope, Jamie Crosby, Elias Martins and Uber Techonologies Inc., et al.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 7, 2012, Maria D. Mayorga was an Uber passenger in a 2016 Toyota Prius traveling east on Folsom Street when a 1999 Honda Passport, owned by Hope and Crosby, struck the Uber vehicle. The defendants' vehicle allegedly was driving in the wrong direction down a one-way street.

The plaintiff holds Rose Hope, Jamie Crosby, Elias Martins and Uber Techonologies responsible for allegedly driving in a careless manner and failing to prevent injuries.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for general damages, loss of earnings, costs of suit incurred, and for such other and further relief as the Court may deem just and proper.
