SAN FRANCISCO – A Paradise residence whose home was lost in the Camp Fire wildfire is seeking damages from the companies she alleges are responsible for the wildfire.

Sharron Holinsworth filed a complaint on Nov. 14 in the San Francisco Superior Court against PG&E Corp., Pacific Gas and Electric Co. and Does 1-250 alleging negligence, trespass and other counts.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 8, Holinsworth lost her home, contents and was forced to evacuate and flee due to the Camp Fire that was allegedly caused by defendants.

The suit states the Camp Fire was started by failed infrastructure owned by the defendants. The plaintiff alleges the defendants were aware of the problems with a high-voltage power line but canceled plans to de-energize power lines as a precaution against fires.

The plaintiff holds PG&E Corp., Pacific Gas and Electric Co. and Does 1-20 responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to conduct reasonably prompt, proper and frequent inspections of the electrical transmission lines, wires and associated equipment and failed to keep equipment in a safe condition at all times to prevent fires.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for general and special damages, attorneys' fees, expert fees, costs of suit, prejudgment interest, and all other and further such relief as the court shall deem proper. She is represented by Scott Summy and John P. Fiske of Baron & Budd PC in San Diego.
