Driver alleged to have failed to yield to stop sign at Fresno intersection before crash

FRESNO – A driver alleges he was injured in a Fresno collision caused by the negligence of another motorist.

Ramon Catano filed a complaint on Nov. 16 in the Fresno County Superior Court against Zachary Christopher Smith and Does 1-100 alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges on Nov. 22, 2017, he was traveling westbound on Mountain View Avenue in a 1997 Ford Ranger and passing through the intersection of Clovis Avenue in Fresno when Smith failed to yield at a stop sign and collided into the passenger side of his truck.

As a result of the collision, the suit states the plaintiff's vehicle rolled twice before coming to a rest on its wheels and severely injured plaintiff. He also alleges tools in the back of the truck were damaged and only partially recovered.

The plaintiff holds Smith and Does 1-100 responsible because Smith allegedly failed to stop at the entrance of the intersecting roadway.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants for compensatory damages according to proof. He is represented by Joel D. Winter of The Winter Law Group in Fresno.
