SAN JOAQUIN – A Stockton man alleges that he has ongoing health issues because of a bariatric surgical procedure done in 2016.

Chester Jackson filed a complaint on Dec. 7 in the San Joaquin Superior Court against Central California Bariatric Surgery, Sutter Health, Dignity Health, et al. alleging medical malpractice.

According to the complaint, on Nov. 15, 2016, Jackson underwent a laparoscopic duodenal switch, a bariatric surgical procedure. He alleges following the procedure, he had chronic diarrhea, stomach cramps and nausea. He alleges he needed follow up surgeries and still has continuing health issues.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants allegedly negligently recommended an inappropriate bariatric surgical procedure and negligently proceed with it.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for general and special damages, costs of suit, and further relief as the court deems proper under the premises. He is represented by Joseph H. Fagundes and Amber L. Smith of Malm Fagundes LLP in Stockton.
