SAN FRANCISCO – An invitee of a San Francisco beauty store alleges she was injured when she slipped on rainwater in the store.

Mary-Ann Chisholm filed a complaint on Dec. 6 in the San Francisco Superior Court against Sephora USA Inc. alleging negligence and premises liability.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 10, 2016, Chisholm was at defendant's store in San Francisco when she slipped and fell due to the presence of rainwater located on the tile flooring of the premises.

As a result of the fall, the plaintiff alleges she sustained physical injuries, pain, inconvenience and medical expenses.

The plaintiff holds Sephora USA Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently maintained, controlled and operated the retail store so that water was present where customers walk.

The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages according to proof. She is represented by Karin P. Beam of Spaulding, McCullough & Tansil LLP in Santa Rosa.
