SAN FRANCISCO – A woman alleges she was terminated from her job as a sales representative after reporting allegedly sexist comments from another employee.
K. Nielsen filed a complaint on Dec. 18 in the San Francisco Superior Court against Teva Sales and Marketing Inc., Eyad Matar and Does 1 through 50 over alleged violation of the California Fair Employment and Housing Act of 1959.
According to the complaint, between September 2017 and March 2, the plaintiff was employed by the defendant as a respiratory sales representative. She alleges during her employment, she was subjected to sexual harassment, sexual discrimination and retaliation. She alleges she was terminated immediately after reporting allegedly sexist comments made by Matar.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to maintain and implement and/or enforce adequate policies and procedures and failed to provide adequate training of personnel, and failed to take other reasonable steps necessary to prevent the violations of the FEHA.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for all damages, statutory penalties, costs, expenses, attorneys' fees, pre- and post-judgment interest, and for all such other relief as the court deems just and appropriate. She is represented by Daniel Feder of Law Offices of Daniel Feder in San Francisco.
