OROVILLE – The son of a couple killed in the Camp Fire has filed a suit against Pacific Gas & Electric and PG&E Corp. seeking damages.

Bradley Dodge filed a complaint on Dec. 21 in the Butte Superior Court against PG&E Corp., Pacific Gas & Electric Co. and Does 1 through 100 alleging negligence, premises liability and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff's parents, Randall and Paula Dodge, died in the Camp Fire, which ignited in November 2018. The plaintiff alleges the Camp Fire was sparked by unsafe electrical infrastructure owned, operated and improperly maintained by the defendants.

The plaintiff holds PG&E Corp., Pacific Gas & Electric Co. and Does 1 through 100 responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to maintain, repair, inspect, track, construct, monitor and supervise its power lines, transformers, insulators, reclosers, and other electrical equipment associated with their operations.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for the wrongful death non-economic damages, attorney's fees, costs of suit, prejudgment interest, and such other and further relief as the court shall deem proper. He is represented by Russell Reiner of Reiner, Slaughter & Frankel LLP in Redding and others.
