SAN FRANCISCO – A law firm with locations in Santa Clara, San Francisco and Contra Costa counties alleges a client failed to pay it for its legal services.

The Law Offices of Jennie Lee filed a complaint on Jan. 15 in the San Francisco Superior Court against RockYou Inc. and Does 1 through 10 alleging breach of contract and other counts.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 3, 2017, defendant RockYou retained and entered into an agreement with the plaintiff's law office to conduct an investigation in connection with personnel matters and ongoing litigation. In exchange, defendant agreed to pay plaintiff at a rate of $285 per hour for services rendered, the suit states.

The plaintiff holds RockYou Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed and refused, and continues to fail and refuse, to remit payment in full for the services rendered in the amount due and owing of $18,539.25 plus interest.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for compensatory and consequential damages, exemplary and punitive damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, restitution and/or disgorgement, costs, fees and such other further relief as the court may deem just and proper. It is represented by Jennie Lee and Suzanne R. Nestor of Law Offices of Jennie Lee in Moraga.
