OROVILLE – A couple injured in a motorcycle accident in Glenn County alleges a defective tire failed and caused the motorcycle to overturn.

Bradley Holmberg and Evonne Holmberg filed a complaint on Jan. 29 in the Butte Superior Court against Chico Honda Motorsports, Pirellu Tire LLC, Pirelli North America Inc., Metzler Motorcycle Tire North America Corp. and Does 1 through 100 alleging negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, Bradley Holmberg purchased a Pirelli tire for his 2002 Honda Goldwing in 2017 or 2018.

The suit states on Sept. 10, 2018, Bradley Holmberg was operating the Honda Goldwing with Evonne Holmberg as the passenger on Interstate 5 in Glenn County when the Pirelli tire installed experienced failure and/or separation of the left sidewall, causing the motorcycle to overturn, strike the roadway and eject both plaintiffs, resulting and severe injuries.

The plaintiffs allege the subject Pirelli tire purchased from the defendants was defective and unsafe.

The plaintiffs allege the defendants negligently and carelessly designed, manufactured, constructed, sold and/or supplied the subject tire knowing that it was defective and failed to warn of the dangers.

The plaintiffs seek judgment for damages, interests, costs of suit and for such other and further relief as may be proper. They are represented by William C. Callaham and Christopher G. Romero of Wilcoxen Callaham LLP in Sacramento.
