SAN FRANCISCO – A couple allege that an Alameda County law firm and attorneys negligently and erroneously advised them to proceed with a suit.
Chia-Pi Tien and Alice Tien filed a complaint on Jan. 30 in the San Francisco Superior Court against Wong & Associates, Wong and Hung, Lawrence Wong, Vance Chang and Does 1-50 alleging legal malpractice.
According to the complaint, on May 17, 2016, Chia-Pi Tien and Alice Tien were represented by defendants in connection with real property they owned in San Francisco.
The plaintiffs allege during the period of representation, defendants allegedly advised them to proceed with the suit, causing them to be exposed to a countersuit, which would entail paying attorneys' fees, facing liabilities and exposures that would not exist if the case were not filed.
The plaintiffs seek judgment for damages according to proof, return of the fees, costs of suit incurred, exemplary and punitive damages, and for such other and further relief as the court deems proper. They are represented by Kevin M. Sullivan of Law Office of Kevin M. Sullivan in San Francisco.
