REDWOOD CITY - Starbucks was called to court in San Mateo County after a woman allegedly fell in the bathroom at the coffee shop's location on 1701 S. El Camino Real in San Mateo.

The complaint was filed on March 15 by plaintiff Nicole Quarry-Cherry, who visited the location on December 30, 2019. While she used the customer restroom there, the plaintiff says she slipped on an unforeseen puddle of liquid on the floor, resulting in injuries to her back and left hip as well as chipped teeth.

The suit says there were no proper cautionary or warning signs to alert plaintiff to the wet floor.

Starbucks is sued for premises liability and negligence.

Quarry-Cherry is represented by the Ladva Law Firm of San Francisco and demands a jury trial to determine damages owed.
