Alexander Xue has filed a lawsuit against Tipsy Putt SV LLC, Tipsy Putt NV LLC, and Brandon Hofstead Robinson, accusing them of deceptive business practices. The complaint was submitted to the Superior Court of California in Santa Clara County on May 1, 2025. Xue claims that the defendants are engaging in unfair competition by charging hidden fees at their mini-golf venue, misleading customers about the true cost of their services.

According to the complaint, Alexander Xue visited the Tipsy Putt mini-golf venue located at 301 W McKinley Ave Ste 150, Sunnyvale, CA on March 28, 2025. He observed a price display indicating that a round of mini-golf costs $18 per person. Relying on this information, he decided to play but later discovered an additional charge labeled as "Employee Health & Benefits Fee" amounting to $1.44 had been added to his bill without prior notice or consent. This fee increased the total cost per person to $18.72 instead of the advertised $18.

Xue argues that this practice violates several California laws including Business and Professions Code §§ 17200 et seq., which prohibits unlawful and fraudulent business acts; Business and Professions Code §§ 17500 et seq., which addresses false advertising; and the Consumer Legal Remedies Act (CLRA), Civil Code §§ 1750 et seq., which protects consumers from deceptive practices. The plaintiff asserts that these actions harm both consumers and competitors by creating a false impression of lower prices.

The plaintiff seeks injunctive relief to prevent further violations by the defendants, an order for refunds to affected customers including himself, coverage for legal costs such as filing fees and service process fees, and any other relief deemed appropriate by the court.

The case is being handled under Case Number: 25CV464877 with Alexander Xue representing himself pro se. No specific attorneys or judges have been named in connection with this case yet.
