Class action accuses Golftec of allegedly violating California wage, labor laws

A California man who claims he was fired after complaining that his employer's holiday pay practices were discriminatory is leading a class action lawsuit against golf equipment seller Golftec, claiming the company also allegedly violated California wage and labor laws. 

The lawsuit was initially filed in June 2023 in San Mateo County Superior Court, but was removed to federal court in San Francisco on March 18.

The lawsuit was filed by named plaintiff Ronald Li has filed a class action lawsuit against Golftec Management LLC. 

The suit alleges that the company failed to pay minimum wages, overtime wages, provide required meal and rest periods, provide accurate itemized statements, reimburse employees for required expenses, pay sick pay wages when due, and engaged in discrimination and retaliation.

Li claims he was fired after complaining about his employer's holiday pay practices. He is seeking compensation for himself and all other similarly situated current and former employees. The lawsuit asserts plaintiffs are seeking less than $5 million.

Plaintiffs are represented by attorneys Norman B. Blumenthal, Kyle R. Nordrehaug, Aparajit Bhowmik and Nicholas J. De Blouw, of Blumenthal Nordrehaug Bhowmik De Blouw LLP, of La Jolla.
