Ceyoni Cain has filed a lawsuit alleging severe defamation and emotional distress caused by false accusations. The complaint was filed on November 21, 2024, in the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco, against Danni Blackman.
According to the lawsuit, Cain claims that Blackman made false statements accusing him of sexual assault and being a serial rapist and predator. These statements were allegedly made both orally and in writing from September 2024 onwards. Cain asserts that these defamatory remarks have been disseminated widely, including through online platforms where photographs of him were posted alongside these damaging allegations. He insists that these accusations are entirely untrue and have significantly harmed his personal reputation and professional life.
Cain's complaint outlines several causes of action including libel, slander per se, invasion of privacy by placing him in a false light, intentional or reckless infliction of emotional distress, interference with economic relationships, and conspiracy. He argues that Blackman's actions were maliciously intended to damage his reputation and cause severe emotional distress. The complaint highlights how these false allegations have led to substantial harm including loss of reputation, shame, mortification, hurt feelings, financial losses due to damaged business relationships, and ongoing mental anguish.
The plaintiff is seeking various forms of relief from the court. He requests compensatory damages for the harm suffered as well as special damages for medical expenses incurred due to the stress caused by the allegations. Additionally, Cain seeks punitive damages to deter similar conduct in the future and an injunction preventing further dissemination of false information about him.
