A recent court filing has brought to light a troubling case of alleged workplace discrimination and wrongful termination. The complaint, filed by Ai Choo Goh in the Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara on November 25, 2024, accuses CCIntegration, Inc., a Delaware corporation, of multiple violations related to disability discrimination and retaliation.
The plaintiff, Ai Choo Goh, was employed by CCIntegration from September 3, 2019, until May 21, 2024. During her tenure as a Sales Operations Administrator, Goh alleges she faced discrimination due to her medical condition which required reasonable accommodations. According to the complaint, Goh suffers from urinary retention and bowel dysfunction which necessitated remote work as an accommodation. Despite her successful performance and dedication over nearly five years at the company, Goh claims that after providing necessary medical documentation for her condition in January 2024, her request for continued remote work was denied by CCIntegration. The company allegedly insisted on her return to onsite work one day per week despite acknowledging the health risks involved.
Goh's complaint outlines a series of discriminatory actions taken by CCIntegration including refusal to accommodate her medical needs adequately and retaliatory termination following her requests for accommodation. The lawsuit cites several violations under California's Government Code Section 12900 et seq., including failure to prevent discrimination and engage in a good faith interactive process regarding accommodations. Additionally, it alleges retaliation in violation of Labor Code Section 1102.5 and wrongful termination against public policy.
The plaintiff is seeking various forms of relief from the court including compensatory damages for lost earnings and emotional distress, punitive damages for willful misconduct by the defendant, as well as attorney’s fees and costs incurred during litigation. She argues that CCIntegration's actions were not only unlawful but also maliciously intended to harm her professionally and personally.
