Susan Powter, a motivational speaker and fitness nutritionist, has revealed that she has been working for Uber Eats for the past nine years to support herself after experiencing severe financial hardship. Powter made this statement during a podcast appearance on February 25.

"I had no place to be. I had no place to live," said Powter, Australian motivational speaker and nutritionist. "My ex-husband. The second one was suing me for some alimony or something."

Uber Eats has been instrumental in providing job opportunities across various regions. The platform enables individuals to work as delivery drivers, offering a source of income that can be tailored to personal schedules and commitments, according to its website.

According to Uber, over the past three years, insurance costs associated with Uber's U.S. rides have increased by approximately 50% per trip. This surge has occurred despite a decrease in the overall rate of crashes reported on the platform from 2017 to 2022, indicating growing financial strain on drivers.

Business of Apps reports that by 2023, Uber Eats had established itself in over 11,000 cities across 45 countries, collaborating with approximately 890,000 restaurant partners. This extensive network highlights the platform's expansive global footprint and its role in connecting a diverse range of restaurants with customers worldwide.

AOL reports that Powter is a wellness coach, author, and former fitness icon best known for her 1990s "Stop the Insanity!" infomercial, where she promoted exercise and a non-dieting approach to weight loss. Once at the height of fame with a multimillion-dollar fitness empire, she later faced financial downfall due to mismanagement and lawsuits, ultimately declaring bankruptcy in 1995.
