LOS ANGELES – A textile manufacturer based in Los Angeles County alleges its design was illegally copied for garment use.

Standard Fabrics International Inc. filed a complaint on Nov. 11 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California against True Destiny LLC, Forman Mills Inc. and Does 1-10 alleging copyright infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that it has suffered and will continue to suffer substantial damages to its business due to defendants' copyright infringement of plaintiff's two-dimensional artwork for purposes of textile printing. The plaintiff holds True Destiny LLC, Forman Mills Inc. and Does 1-10 responsible because the defendants allegedly illegally reproduced the plaintiff's design and profited from the reproduction.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants, accounting of profits, attorneys’ fees, costs of this action and further relief as the court deems proper. It is represented by Stephen M. Doniger, Scott A. Burroughs, Trevor W. Barrett and Justin M. Gomes of Doniger/Burroughs in Venice.
