LOS ANGELES – A corporation alleges a Newbury Park man failed to perform his duties under an agreement.

Vecrom Exim LTD filed a complaint on April 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Western Division against Clinton Lee Stokes III alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 23, plaintiff, PPB Engineering and System Design and the defendant entered into a Memorandum of Understanding. The suit states the memorandum stated the debtors would pay $35,000 upon execution plus $650,000 on or before Feb. 19.

The plaintiff holds Stokes III responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to make payment obligations, failed to respond to the demand made upon him and failed to perform duties under the Memorandum of Understanding.

The plaintiff seeks payment for compensatory damages in the amount of $685,000, with pre- and post-judgment interest, costs, attorneys' fees, and such further relief as the court may deems just and proper. It is represented by William N. Sinclair of Silverman Thompson Slutkin White LLC in Baltimore.
