SAN FRANCISCO – Two individuals allege their insurer has failed to pay for the loss, theft and vandalism of a vehicle.
Makhan Jhattu and Baljut Jhattu filed a complaint on April 3 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against Mapfre Insurance Co. and Does 1 to 25 alleging breach of contract.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that in 2015, Makhan Jhattu legally parked his car outside of his home in Antelope and that it was taken during the night. The suit states the vehicle was recovered but was badly damaged and that the defendants failed and refused to properly investigate and adjust the loss.
The plaintiffs holds Mapfre Insurance Co. and Does 1 to 25 responsible because the defendant allegedly refused to pay plaintiffs' claim for damages that they allege should be covered by their policy.
The plaintiffs seek general damages, special damages, lost wages, punitive and exemplary damages, interest, all legal fees and any other relief as the court deems just. They are represented by John Fitzpatrick Vannucci of Law Offices of John Fitzpatrick Vannucci in San Francisco.
