Attorney, ARI Law allege lawyer violated rules of professional conduct

SAN FRANCISCO – A California attorney is alleged to have represented another party in a legal matter and created a conflict of interest.

Ali A. Aalaei and ARI Law PC filed a complaint on April 30 in the Superior Court of California - County of San Francisco against Joseph Garofolo and Does 1 through 10 alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Garofolo acted and provided counsel to the plaintiffs between 2012 and 2016. The plaintiffs allege that in 2017, the defendant undertook the representation of a third party whole legal interest was adverse to the law firm, thereby creating a conflict of interest. 

The plaintiffs hold Garofolo responsible because the defendant represented the third party in alleged violation of the California Rules of Professional Conduct.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment for compensatory, general, special damages; lost profits; costs of suit; attorneys' fees; and further relief the court deems just and proper. They are represented by Babak Hashemi of The Law Offices of Babak Hashemi in Newport Beach.
