SAN DIEGO – Spring Valley marijuana dispensary and retail store is alleged to not have parking available for patrons with disabilities.

Karel Spikes filed a complaint on June 1 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California against Amad Somo, Campo Greens, et al. alleging that they violated the Americans with Disabilities Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff uses a wheelchair and was formerly a medical marijuana user with an authorization care before recreational marijuana became legal in the state. He alleges since May 13, he has been denied full and equal access to the defendants' Spring Valley property because of barriers there.

The plaintiff holds Somo, Campo Greens, et al. responsible because the defendants' premises allegedly had a lack of accessible parking.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an order requiring the defendants to remove all architectural barriers; award for compensatory, punitive and exemplary damages; attorneys' fees; and costs and such other and further relief. He is represented by Thomas J. Vandeveld III of Vandeveld Law Offices in Bonita.
