Fitness product manufacturer sued for alleged Prop 65 violation

SAN FRANCISCO - Keep America Safe and Beautiful has filed suit a fitness equipment manufacturer in the San Francisco Superior Court for an alleged Proposition 65 violation. 

The complaint was filed on April 21 against defendant Vandue Corporation. According to the complaint, Vandue manufactured and distributed and sold ab mats that contained DEHP, a chemical known to the state to cause cancer and birth defects under Proposition 65, which requires that manufacturers disclose to consumers when chemicals like DEHP are present in products.

The product is the AUM Ab Mat Core Fitness Trainer in black, which the plaintiff purchased and allegedly tested for Proposition 65 violations in a lab. 

Vandue is sued for Proposition 65 violation and is subjected to as much as $2,500 in civil damages for each day that the violation continues in the product. 

The plaintiff is represented by Seven Hills LLP.
