Woman sues UCSF Medical Center for alleged fall while walking to restroom

SAN FRANCISCO - A woman is suing UCSF after allegedly falling while attempting to walk to the restroom. 

Maria Lopez Rubio filed a lawsuit on Dec. 20 in the San Francisco County Superior Court against Regents of the University of California, the City and County of San Francisco, UCSF Medical Center and Does 1-100 for negligence - medical malpractice.

According to the lawsuit, on Jan. 17, 2021, Rubio was taken to San Francisco General Hospital for examination because of experiencing vertigo, which includes symptoms of dizziness, spinning, nausea and vomiting. She also has a history of high blood pressure and diabetes, the suit says. 

Rubio asked to use the restroom and was told to stand up and walk, the suit says. While attempting to use walk to the restroom, Rubio fell on the ground, the suit says.

Rubio was caused to suffer physical bruising and pain to her arms, right shoulder, hip and leg, the suit says.

Rubio seeks general damages, special damages, attorney's fees and cost of suit. Rubio is represented by Joseph K. Bravo of Bravo Law Offices.
