Christopher Ancheta, a former employee, has filed a lawsuit against his previous employers and associated companies for alleged wrongful termination and discrimination. The complaint was filed on January 27, 2025, in the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco, by plaintiff Christopher Ancheta against Universal Protection Service LP, Allied Universal Security Services Universal Protection Service LPP, Alight Solutions LLC, Reed Group LLC, and other unnamed defendants.
Ancheta's lawsuit accuses the defendants of several violations under California law. He claims he was wrongfully terminated due to disability discrimination and harassment in violation of the Fair Employment and Housing Act (FEHA). The complaint details that Ancheta was denied reasonable accommodations for his medical condition and faced retaliation after invoking his rights under the California Family Rights Act (CFRA). Furthermore, Ancheta alleges that his requests for leave to care for an immediate family member were unlawfully denied by both his employer and its agents. "Defendants conspired to deny Plaintiff leave for which he was lawfully entitled," states the complaint.
The plaintiff seeks damages for economic losses such as loss of earnings and benefits, as well as non-economic damages including emotional distress. In addition to compensatory damages totaling $2 million, Ancheta is pursuing punitive damages amounting to $6 million. The complaint also demands injunctive relief requiring the defendants to implement policies preventing future discrimination and harassment.
Representing Christopher Ancheta is attorney Christopher R. LeClerc from Le Clerc & Le Clerc LLP. The case is presided over by the Superior Court of California with Case ID CGC-25-621784.
