Hayward attorney Portia Bettis has been disbarred by the California State Bar over alleged violations of business and professional codes and the state bar's rules of professional conduct, according to a recent decision.
The State Bar Court of California recently placed Scott Bunker Hayward, a Santa Ana attorney, on a five-year probation. The Feb. 19 order came as a result of the attorney’s conviction for the assault and false imprisonment of a woman.
OAKLAND – An Alameda County judge ruled earlier this month that the Public Records Act applies to video taken by cameras worn by on-duty police officers, a victory for the San Francisco chapter of the National Lawyers Guild and the ACLU of Northern California.
